wins both 1980 and 1984 elections by landslides, leader of conservative movement, the FDR of the republican party, huge republican majority in congress

boycotts 1980 moscow olympics, declares soviets evil empire and US is the city upon the hill

strategic defense initiative, force field around US protecting from misslies from soviets, huge bluff US is no where near close to thsi tech but lies to the soivets who are broke over spending so much on the arms race and they just cant keep up
