Piston pump :: (type of positive displacement pump) pump with the piston inside the cylinder with high pressure seal acting in a reciprocating motion that causes liquid or fluid to move or to compress air

Diaphragm pump :: (type of positive displacement pump) also called membrane pump; utilizes a combination of the reciprocating motion of thermoplastic, rubber or Teflon diaphragm and valves

Rotary pump :: (type of positive displacement pump) a helical or spiral rotor- a turning vertical shaft within a rubber sleeve
