Oral stage (birth to about 1 years old)
Erogenous zone is the mouth because most of an infants initial interactions occur through that zone
Anal stage (1-3 years old)
bladder/bowel control and is the time when children are potty-trained
Phallic stage (3 to 6 years)
where a child's personality fully develops. introversion or extroversion are apparent

oedipus complex- if the child is a boy, they are in love with their mother and want to kill their father
castration anxiety- fear of losing genitals
girls
electra complex- if the child is a girl, they are in love with their father and want to kill their father
penis envy- says it all
Latent Period (6 years old - puberty)
when the oedipus or electra complex are pushed into the unconscious mind
Genital stage (puberty-death)
adult sexuality and intimacy fully develops
libido is satisfied through intercourse
