Made up of the kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra. It filters the blood and removes liquid waste/extra water from the body (urine, sweat)

Outer shell of an animal body, protects and maintains water

Includes lymph nodes, helps with immune response

Includes skeletal, smooth, and cardiac muscles

This system sends and receives nerve messages throughout the body.

Allows for reproduction

Facilitates intake and exhaling of oxygen

Organ systems are made up of more than one organ and perform one or more specific function in the body. The organs in an organ system work together.

Protective (prevents water loss and protects plant) , photosynthetic (transforms the Sun's energy into sugar), transport (contain hollow tub like cells that move food and water through the plant)

Both patrol and protect from harm. The BLANK System patrols the body and ID's substances like bacteria and viruses that can cause disease. It also heals the body when it becomes sick. Police arrest and patrol streets to protect from suspicious people.

Nervous tissue makes up these organs.

also called striated muscle, it is attached to the skeleton. It is voluntary controlled.

The muscle that makes a heart beat. We can't control it (it's involuntary)

muscle that moves involuntary and without you thinking about it. They keep your eyes focused and help food move through your intestines.

If the spinal cord is severed below the shoulders, the lower body and legs are paralysed.

If the spinal cord is servered in the neck area, all four limbs can be paralyzed.

When severed nerve impulses from the body are not able to make it to the brain, and vice versa.

Wheelchairs have been approved, access to building/transportation has been improved as well.

Viruses are not living because they can’t make their own energy or divide on their own. They need host cells to reproduce in.

The body’s spinal cord has cells that transmits nerve impulses from the senses to the brain and carries impulses from the brain to muscles so that they can move. (communication link from brain to body)

Hormones are chemicals that regulate every bodily function.

Glands such as the pituitary, thyroid, and pancreas all produce hormones that carry messages to other parts of the body.

It also controls behaviour, movement, and processes such as digestion and circulation.
