The skeletal system : The framework of bones and tissues that support the body


The muscular system -Tissues that move parts of the body and operate internal organs



Contract - squeeze or pull together


Cartilage -  Allows joints to move easily, cushions bones and supports soft tissues such as those in the nose and ear

Tendons - join muscle to muscle or muscle to bone


Joints - The places where two or more bones meet


Pivot joint- The end of one bone rotates inside a ring formed by another bone


Gliding Joint - One part of the bone glides over another

Ball and socket joint - The ball shaped head of one bone moves inside a cup shaped pocket


Hinge - The joint moves in only one direction like a door


Ligaments - Holds bones in place at joints

  5. Storage of fat and calcium

Skeletal system

  • Cartilage: Tissue that covers the end of the bones

  • Purpose : stops bones from rubbing against each other

  • Elastic cartilage -stretchy moves east

  • Hyaline cartilage - harder to mover - protection -


  • Growth plates : Make new bone cells - (helps you break)

  • Joint- where two bones meet

  • Ligament: connects 2 bones

Injuries  -break- sprain
