WHAT IS COMMUNICATION?

  • The Latin word of Communication is “Communicare” which means is to share, to share information, knowledge and everything.

  • It is a defined as the process of understanding and sharing meaning.

  • It is an exchange of thoughts, messages, or information, as by speech, signals, writing or behavior.

  • There are varies of types how to communicate, not just thru words or using our mouth.

  • Communication is also the relationship between the sender and the receiver.

  • It serves us well with its emphasis on the process. A process is a Dynamic Activity, that is hard to describe because it changes.

TYPES OF COMMUNCIATION

  1. Verbal Communication

    it is the use of sounds and words to express yourself, especially in contrast to using gestures or mannerism.

  2. Non-Verbal Communication

    It is a sending and receiving messages without the use of words: Instead of using words or mouth, it uses body movements.

  3. Audio and Visual Communications

    It reinforces oral and written communication, but they can also communicate by themselves.

COMMUNICATION PROCESS

Message: It is the key idea that the sender wants to communicate.

Sender/Encoder: the person who sends the message as under make use of symbols.

Encoding: the process of where the information you would like to communicate, into form to be sent and decoded by a receiver.

Channels: the ways to convey your messages.

Receiver: a person for whom the message is intended or aimed.

Feedback: the main component of communication process as it permits the sender to analyze the effect of the research.

Note to remember:

  • Communication is complex, and there are a lot of types how to communicate. We can communicate through our mouth, body movements, visual, aural and many more.

  • Communicating is a daily life basis of a person, we may think that we are not communicating to people but we are, because again Communication is COMPLEX and WIDE.
