Polygon- A closed figure in a plane, formed by connecting line segments

Side- the line segments of the polygon

Vertex- The endpoint of a segment, corner points of the polygon

Consecutive angles, consecutive vertices, and consecutive sides- they are right next to each other on the object

Diagonal- line segment that connects 2 nonconsecutive vertices, goes through the middle of the polygon

convex- if at least one diagonal can be drawn outside if the polygon

Perimeter- sum of the lengths of the sides of the polygon

concave- if at least one diagonal can be drawn outside of the polygon

Equilateral polygon- a polygon with all sides of equal measures

Equiangler polygon- a polygon with all angles of equal measures

regular polygon- a polygon with all angles that are equal as well as all sides

Right angle- has one right angle

acute triangle- has 3 acute angles

obtuce angles- has one obtuse angle

scalence triangle- has no congruent sides

isosceles triangles- has at least 2 congruent sides

equilateral triangle- has at least 2 congruent sides

vertex angle- the angles between 2 equal sides

base- the side opposite the vertex angle

base angle- the angles that are connected to the base

trapozoid- quadrilateral with exactly one pair of parallel sides

kite- quadrilateral with 2 pairs of consective sides that are congruent

parallelogram- quadrilateral with 2 pairs of parallel side

Rectangle- quadrilateral with 4 right angles equiangular parallelogram

square- quadrilateral with 4 right angles and 4 congruent sides equilateral rectangle
