  3. Invasion of Russia- Napoleon despite being allies with Russia decides to invade them. Napoleon wanted Poland and felt Russia was going to take it. (Wanted all of Europe for himself).

The end/ Congress of Vienna:

  • Napoleon gets exiled to Elba, and there he gets popular again. His army is then defeated at the battle of waterloo (His last stand). He then dies of stomach cancer on the island.

  • The congress of Vienna (1815) is called to figure out how to create peace between nations. They say that there will always be balance of power in Europe (wont let one country rise up and be in charge).

Vocab:

  • Nationalism- Extreme pride in one’s country

  • Puppet Government- A government which looks like it's doing its own thing, but they are being controlled.
