MODULE 3: MATERIALS

  • Soft materials :: absorbs sound; reduces loudness of sound

  • Hard materials :: reflects sound

  • Noise absorption fabric :: A dimensional fabric that offers excellent acoustical properties, unmatched fade resistance, and a fire/smoke retardant rating; most basic & common acoustical material

  • Ceiling Baffles Noise :: best to solve any reverberation problems, in any large space; made of polyurethane foam

  • Melamine Wedges :: A lightweight, porous, open cell, acoustic melamine foam material designed for maximum sound absorption where a Class 1 Fire rating is a must

  • Egg crate :: most economical acoustical material; used in spaces where noise is critical like studios, recording room

  • Acoustical Wall panels :: sound absorbing panels that can mount directly to walls or ceilings through a variety of adhesives, hook & loop fasteners; stop noise control issues with their powerful sound absorbing acoustical materials

  • Ceiling clouds :: very effective treatment for the reduction of sound in ceiling areas; suspended horizontally

  • Vinyl Barrier Acoustic Material :: Apply to block transmission of sound through walls, floors, and ceilings; not absorber but reflector

  • Barrier Composite & Soundproofing Foam Noise Control Material :: ideal for noise blocking and can be used to soundproof any wall, ceiling or any opening excellent for use inside a machine enclosure, or any industrial equipment

  • Acoustic Floor Underlayment :: rubber based acoustic floor material made from recycled rubber tires; Used under laminate or engineered hardwood flooring

  • Acoustic V-block :: ideal for extreme noise sources, low bass noise, impact noise, or for anechoic sound chambers; pyramidal in shape

  • Acoustic Ceiling tiles :: great material to use in ceilings

  • Pipe and Duct wrap :: typically used to wrap noisy pipes & ducts to block the noise that transmits through the walls of the pipe/duct

  • Bass Trap :: not effective noise control material

  • Door Seal :: rubber sealant in doors
