75 digital tools and apps teachers can use to support formative assessment in the classroom

This article gives teachers an alternative of formative assessment strategies, techniques, and tools available to teachers who use formative instructional practice in their classrooms. Some of the examples that I believe would benefit my grade level the best is:

  1. Animoto Gives students the ability to make a 30-second video of what they learned in a lesson.
  2. AudioNote A combination of a voice recorder and notepad, it captures both audio and notes for student collaboration.
  3. Edpuzzle Helps you use video (your own, or one from Khan Academy, YouTube, and more) to track student understanding.
  4. Flipgrid Lets students use 15-second to 5-minute videos to respond to prompts. Teachers and peers can provide feedback.

As to Present, engage, and inspire I would implement BrainPOP which lets you use prerecorded videos on countless topics to shape your lesson plan, then use quizzes to see what stuck.

Screencast was another idea of how to use technology as an assessment. Which is documenting a video of your screen based on the students understanding. Another idea this article includes as a technology assessment is virtual exit tickets to check students udersanding like Spark Post this tool lets students create graphics for an exit slip.

Technology And Classroom Data

Technology and use of technology can help me assign differentiated lessons and instruction based on individual needs. Something that data helps me with is grouping my students based on individual reading skill needs.

This article included platforms to make it possible to collect evidence of student thinking and learning in ways that are impossible with paper and pencil. This article was informational because it helps me with information about student growth and performance. Technology and classroom data can help me as a educator be innovative and improve student learning.
