There are eight strands of Social Studies. The eight strands of Social Studies are History, Geography, Economics, Government, Culture, Social Studies Skills, Citizenship, and Science, Technology and Society. Economics deals with jobs, and money. Government deals with the people that create are laws and create order in our society. History deals with past events, and how they shape our lives. Citizenship deals with the rights and responsibilities you have as a citizen. social Studies Skills deals with skills like map reading. Culture deals with our traditions, and social norms. Geography deals with the physical world around us like mountains, rivers, forests, and how they effect our society. Science, Technology, and Society deals with the inventions, and technology that shape our society.
