Louis Philippe
was king of France from 1830 to 1848. He was known as the Citizen King because the people put him on the throne. He ultimately lost power because he did not support the working classes.

the nephew of Napoleon Bonaparte. He was president of the Second Republic (1850-1852), then emperor of the Second Empire of France (1852-1870). Napoleon III built France's economic and political power, but his foreign policies were unsuccessful. He was deposed in 1870 after France's defeat in the Franco-Prussian War.
