Honesty & truthfulness
Sincerity: be free from pretense, deciet or hipocracy
Candor: open and honest in expression; frankness
Proscriptions of the 8th commandment
Duplicity: decietfulness; being double hearted or underhanded
Dissimulation: concealment of one's thoughts, feelings, character, or pretense
Hypocrisy: claiming one line of moral standards or beliefs and failing to follow them in one's own behavior
Lying: speaking a falsehood with the intention to decieve- is a direct and serious offense against truth
Rash Judgement: questions someone's character or concludes a moral defect
Insincere flattery: attributing qualities that may not exist or which are exhagerated, usually for personal gain or favor
Complaisance: disposition to accomodate the tastes or feelings of another for their pleasure
Bragging: excessively proud and boastful talk of one's achievements or possessions
False Witness: public statement made contrary to the truth
Perjury: false statement made under oath
Calumny (slander- false statements spoken & libel- slanderous statements written): false and malicious misrepresentation of words or actions of another intended to injure their reputation
Detraction: taking away from a person's merit or reputation by disclosing another's true faults or sins
