The rinks that the Moose play games in are outdoor rinks, with no ‘luxuries’ such as indoor
heated dressing rooms, scoreboards or even a players’ bench. (p.110) Why, nevertheless, do
the boys enjoy playing these games so much, despite the uncomfortable conditions?
The boys don’t care about the conditions or any small negative aspects, all they care about is the game. They have no need for luxuries, they are just there to be together and play the game.
