Novenas are prayers in nines--same prayer once every 9 days, once every 9 hours, etc. Liturgy of the Hours has specific prayers constructed to happen in 3 hr intervals every 24 hrs--

The rosary is a devotional meditation on aspects/experiences of Mary’s life--good times, times of sorrow and suffering, etc. It is a Catholic devotion because we believe that Mary is the first disciple of Jesus and we are asked to be a disciple of Jesus--following Mary’s example is the best way to learn what it means to be a disciple.

The celebration of the sacraments and the recitation of the Liturgy of the Hours

Personal prayer maintains a personal relationship with God/Jesus. Communal prayer helps us to remember that we are a community that shares the same faith and we can draw support and inspiration from others who share the same faith we do.

Liturgy of the Hours has specific prayers constructed to happen in 3 hr intervals every 24 hrs--prayer is always happening every minute of every hour of every day--prayer is constantly happening.
