Major Repair and Alteration

Form filled out by a mechanic and sent to the FAA, detailing a major repair or alteration.

Two: One for the aircraft owner/operator and one for the FAA, submitted 48 hours after the repair was made

IF fuel tanks were installed inside of the cabin or passenger compartment, a THIRD 337 should be kept inside the airplane.

A form for persons performing maintenance to report information concerning malfunctions and maintenance problems encountered during daily operations.

(Form 8100-2) An airworthiness certificate is issued by the FAA to an aircraft that has been proven to meet the minimum design and manufacturing requirements and is condition for safe operation. -Only valid if the aircraft meets the requirements of the original type certificate (or a STC).

(Form 8050-3) Form issued by the FAA to an aircraft owner when an aircraft is purchased -only valid as long as the ownership stays the same

a license required by the FCC for all aircraft that have radio transmitters installed and are operating outside the United States.

Instructions for aircraft operation; they are located in an FAA-Approved AFM or POH.

Data that contains the current weight and balance of an aircraft, as well as an equipment list that identifies the weight and moment of each accessory added.

1)Records of Maintenance to an airframe, engine, prop, or appliance. Refers to maintenance actions of a routine nature, such as minor maintenance actions which are periodically repeated and are not major repairs or major alterations.

2)Records of the 100-hour, annual, or progressive inspections; when new or more current inspections are recorded old ones can be discarded.

1: Research the airplanes history to try and find information regarding time in service, and anything else you can find.

2:If something is found regarding time in service, the owner or operator must make a notarized statement in the new record describing the loss of the original records, thus establishing a new time in service for the aircraft or component

3:If nothing is found (in whole or just for a particular component) you MUST assume everything is out of time.

1)Description of work performed, or reference to data acceptable to the administrator 2)Date the work was performed on 3)Name of person performing the work 4) Certification type, number, and signature of person approving the work.

The signature constitutes approval for RTS ONLY FOR WORK PERFORMED

1)Inspection type and description of its extent 2)Date of the Inspection AND aircraft TT in service 3)Except for progressive inspections, a statement of airworthiness 4)Certification type, number, and signature of person approving or disapproving the item for RTS.

Does not require Airworthiness statement, only a statement authorizing aircraft RTS.

A list of discrepancies must be given to the aircraft owner.

Give the customer a signed worker order with the maintenance recorded on it.

1)Gather all reference info for the aircraft 2)Search for AD's through the cumulate index 3)Verify AD applicability to the aircraft 4)Gather additional data mentioned in the AD 5)Check maintenance records to see if the AD was previously addressed, and if it was done correctly 6)If the AD was not complied with, make a cost estimate for AD compliance 7)Record AD compliance in a compliance record.
